SUPERTMATIK Mental Math International Competition 2020/21
SUPERTMATIK Mental Math International Competition 2020/21
Due to coronavirus concerns, the Competition will be held online-only
SUPERTMATIK mental math game is a mathematical card game played in schools since 2005. Best known as "SUPER T", this mental math game has proven to successfully engage students in grades 1 through 9 (students aged between 6 and 15 years).
In 2007 EUDACTICA publishers, created the International SUPERTMATIK Mental Math Competition, a contest based in the SUPERTMATIK Mental Math game. This contest has become a key event in the teaching of mathematics. The central principle of this championship is for students to develop basic competence in mathematics from the beginning of their schooling through constructive play, interesting and involving them in it via a fun way of learning.
Why should I register?
1. All teachers recognize the importance of practicing mental math;
2. Practicing mental math doesn't just help students develop academically, it's also a useful life skill;
3. SUPERTMATIK will boost your pupils motivation towards mental math;
4. SUPERTMATIK will keep ALL students motivated - everyone can play at their own level.
Entering the SUPERTMATIK school competition is free of charge and does not imply any purchase obligation, unless you wish to register your school winners in the Grand International Final. In this case, a small fee (EUR 3) will be charged for each student you wish to register for the final stage

80 Ontario High Schools improve in Math
The Report Card helps parents choose Where parents can choose among several schools for their children, the Report Card provides a valuable tool for making a decision. Because it makes comparisons easy, it alerts parents to those nearby schools that appear to have more effective academic programs.
Some schools do better than others. To improve a school, one must believe that improvement is achievable. This Report Card, like other report cards from the Fraser Institute, provides evidence about what can be accomplished. It demonstrates clearly that even when we take into account factors such as the students’ family background—which some believe dictate the degree of academic success that students can enjoy in school—some schools do better than others.

Richmond English Classes CUT by Federal Government
Both the Immigration Services Society of BC (ISSBC) and SUCCESS which run the non-profit Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) programs are in the process of figuring out how to deal with the reduction.
In Surrey, the wait list at SUCCESS English classes currently totals 1,300 people. According to CBC News, service providers have been told the federal government is reducing funding, based on landing numbers of immigrants and refugees in B.C.

Free ESL Cafe English Conversation Classes in Toronto
Free ESL Cafe English Conversation Classes in Toronto
Every Monday evenings from 7 to 8:30 PM there are free "ESL Cafe" English as a second language conversation sessions. (except holidays) ( Summer holiday is Aug 1st to Sept 8th)Go to the ESL in Canada Pinterest pages or our ESL Cafe Pictures page to see additional pictures of the English classes and events.
How ESL in Canada Recommends Classes
ESL in Canada recommends both free and commercial ESL English classes for example:
the FREE Toronto ESL Cafe English conversation classes, the free LINC classes for new Canadians, the free English classes at many libraries, the free classes at accredited TESL Teaching schools, and some excellent Board of Education continuing education classes that cost 2 or 3 dollars per instructional hour.
ESL in Canada recommends a few affiliated ESL schools with colleges and universities. Some affiliated ESL programs earn the students credits towards an undergraduate degree and enable entry into the regular college or university programs.
Some affiliated programs are not recommended because even some public colleges and universities used ESL students as a money grab, dumping dozens of the same L1 into a class and allowing L1 to be spoken 90% of the time. The college made $$ and the students learned almost nothing.
ESL in Canada recommends a few English classes at excellent independent ESL schools that cost between 12 to 18 dollars per hour with their teachers and their programs and some excellent private ESL and Business English teachers that charge between 20 and 65 dollars per hour.

How to use a Blacklist
How to use a Blacklist
Just like everything in life you have to get as close as possible to the source of the information. If you can talk to the actual person - who made the comment or blacklist entry or review - then you have a better chance of evaluating how real the information is - how it applies to you or your situation and if this information should influence your plans.
Public Lists of Fines, Violations and Stop Operating Orders
There are several public lists of companies and individuals who have been convicted of criminal activity, fined for civil law violations or by-law infractions. These are similar to blacklists and many people use them as a source of information similar to blacklists.
Blacklists in Canada
Real Blacklists are lists of complaints of bad experiences by actual users.
Blacklists help consumers understand what can go wrong and what happens when criminals or incompetents help things to go wrong to increase profits or not provide services. Normally blacklists are not published - they are traded between groups with similar interests.
Schools will trade information about bad teachers and bad agents to avoid hiring mistakes and losses.
Agents will trade information about bad schools who do not pay and cheat the students.
Students and parents will trade information about bad schools, bad teachers and bad agents.
Teachers have blacklists of agents and schools that do not pay wages or provide proper visas or settlement services.
Blacklists have Problems
There are real blacklists and fake blacklists. Fake blacklists are used by criminals to extort money from good operators - the good school is put on a blacklist with several known criminal organizations and then told that the listing can be removed after a fee is paid.
Real blacklists can be compromised by fake users who publish wrong information. For Example: I witnessed a scam couple who stayed at a hotel for a week - then wrote a list of fake complaints and posted it on the Travel Advisor website - then they told the hotel owner that they would remove the fake review if he cancelled the hotel bill. My advice was to call the police and explain the attempted extortion. Usually the police will look at events or actions and evaluate if it justifies a criminal charge.
YES - ESL in Canada has blacklists of schools, agents, teachers, homestay, service and product suppliers. You can add your actual experience to the blacklist or make a YouTube Video and send us the link.
Examples of How some were nominated to the Blacklist
This school was blacklisted: the school owner suggested to an 17 year old female student that she should live with him and that her school and living expenses would be fully paid in exchange for "favours".
This homestay was blacklisted: A single man presented a wife and child as a "family" to school coordinators - in reality he lived alone - female students complained of un-wanted touching.
This teacher on probation from an earlier warning - completely intoxicated - crashed a school social event - made direct
sexual suggestions to a female student - the student fled to the women's washroom and waited until four male students expedited the drunk teachers departure.
This school told students that they were an international school with students from around the world - in reality all 63 students had the same native language.
Ontario Ministry Restraining Orders Lists of Fines, Violations Contraventions
